Alisha Lewis

Public art, Sculpture to EMPOWER.

Rendered in both clay and paint, my artwork and sculpture focuses upon the female body in all its many hues. Uplifting women to display all their natural attributes and genius.

ARTIST BACKGROUND

Alisha Lewis is a native of Jacksonville, FL and holds a Bachelors of Fine Arts, focus in ceramics, with a minor in Art History and African American Studies from the University of Florida Gainesville, FL. After years of working as an independent artist and educator she then obtained a Master of Professional Studies, Business of Art and Design, from the Maryland Institute College of Art, Baltimore, MD.

Since 1972, Beaches Fine Arts Series has offered people of North Florida the chance to enjoy world-class music and dance in an annual season of performances, all for free. At each reception following the home venue concerts, we present an art exhibit featuring the works of a regional visual artist.

Jax Cultural Council Round 2 Grantee

Visual Arts grant award sponsored by the Cultural Council and PNC Bank to focus upon a body of work "Sweet Fruit"

"PNC Foundation has partnered with the Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville to award seven $2,500 grant awards through the JAX Arts Project - Round 2 to individual artists living and working in Northeast Florida. 


The purpose of the funding is to enable the selected artists to focus on the completion of art works during a six-month grant period.  Following the grant period, all grantees will share and discuss their work in a community forum hosted by the Cultural Council and PNC. "

The Ritz Theatre and Museum is proud to announce the artists of the 2018 Through Our Eyes exhibit, which will open in February 2018. The 25th anniversary of "Through Our Eyes" Exhibition :Struggle and Resistance. A multiyear exhibition, due to COVID-19 pandemic, by artists in Jacksonville,Fl USA and Nelson Mandela Bay, South Africa.
